The Ram 1500 is fully redesigned for the new model year. There's a new exterior design with updated lighting elements, a new color palette, and wheel designs. Design

The new twin-turbo engine outputs 305 horsepower, while the inline-six, also called the Hurricane, outputs between 420 and 540 horsepower. In testing, it was found that the Ram 1500 has a payload cap of 2,300 pounds and a max towing cap of 11,580 pounds.

Fuel Economy

In the EPA's estimation, the Ram 1500 with the new turbocharged inline-six is the most fuel-efficient model, offering around 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. With four-wheel drive equipped, those numbers dip by one. However, with the more powerful V6 and four-wheel drive, the Ram 1500 produces 15 mpg city and 21 mpg highway.

Technology

Along with a new appearance, Ram has also given the 1500 a host of new tech. This includes a standard five-inch touchscreen and a larger eight-inch unit in higher trims. Each display comes with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, Wi-Fi access, and Ram Connect connected services. Although Aransas Pass customers looking for an even larger touchscreen can get an optional 12.0-inch touchscreen on all but the base model.
