It may be hard to believe, but it's been over a decade since Dodge produced a new vehicle. For the 2024 model year, however, that all changes with the release of the Dodge Hornet. This compact SUV is powered by a pure gasoline engine or a plug-in hybrid powertrain, each providing a striking amount of power and fuel economy. Highlights of the Dodge Hornet

The new Dodge Hornet is available with two engine options. The base engine, the GT, uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter 268 horsepower four-cylinder with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. While the other engine, labeled the R/T uses an electric motor to produce 288 horsepower. This model also has all-wheel drive but uses a six-speed automatic transmission.

As a compact model, Alice, TX drivers will find the Hornet's interior rather spacious in the front and have a 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge display. This SUV also uses a Uconnect 5 system, which allows for wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa connectivity.

Along with plenty of modern technology, the Hornet also features several advanced driver-aids. These features include automated emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring, and parking sensors. For additional safety, Victoria, TX residents can opt for the optional Tech package, which adds adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and several other unique features.
